The William Cook group has expanded its heavy machining capability by acquiring ADA Machining Services Ltd.
Read MoreThe addition of ADA, based in Greater Manchester, complements William Cook’s already extensive machine shops at the group’s Leeds and Stanhope factories.
ADA is an experienced machinist of castings, forgings and fabrications weighing up to 60 tonnes, and is already an established subcontractor to William Cook Cast Products in Sheffield.
ADA will continue to provide machining services to its external customers in the energy, defence and capital goods markets.
Chris Seymour, Managing Director of the William Cook group, said: “The acquisition of ADA is a great opportunity for both businesses.
“For William Cook Cast Products this is one of the final pieces in the jigsaw to allow us to offer a full service to our customers where we can now supply castings with all processes from design and manufacture of pattern, through non-destructive and mechanical testing and now machining completely under our own control.
“This ensures the quality and delivery can be assured to our customers and reliance on third parties is not needed.
“ADA have had a relationship with William Cook that goes back decades and it is great to be able to provide them the support that they require to survive and flourish into the future.”
Lee Davies, Managing Director of ADA, said: “ADA Machining Services is looking forward to playing a prominent role within the William Cook Group.
“The two Companies have worked very closely over a long period of time and this acquisition means that ADA can continue to develop and support both the group and its sub-contract client base.”
ADA’s management team will remain in place, supported by William Cook group management.
