CNC machining

The William Cook Group’s two modern machine shops offer a wide range of milling, turning and boring equipment, all of which are complemented by state-of-the-art fabrication, non-destructive testing (NDT) and dimensional inspection facilities.

All 31 of William Cook’s computer numerically controlled (CNC) machining centres are new or refurbished since 2015 and can accommodate castings, forgings and fabrications in iron, steel and aluminium.

Key capabilities

Correa FOX 50 gantry milling machine, installed 2016, can accommodate parts 5000 x 3000 x 1000mm and up to 15 tonnes in weight, including complete bogie frames for trains
Modern, European-built 5-axis machining centres offer unbeatable accuracy and repeatability

As of 2021, the William Cook group includes heavy machinist ADA Machining Services Ltd. ADA has enormous experience in turning, boring and milling very large castings, forgings and fabrications weighing up to 60 tonnes.
